Consumer Direct Services (CDS)

We Are Pending Approval

The State of Missouri, The Missouri Centers for Independent Living, in conjunction with the Missouri Dept of Health and Social Services, administer this program. The philosophy of the Center for Independent Living is Consumer Controlled Community based options that promote Independence for persons with physical disabilities.

Why CDS?

The CDS program is a program that allows an individual to direct his or her own personal care assistance services @ no cost to the Consumer.

Who is Eligible for CDS?

To be eligible for Missouri's Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program, you must be Medicaid eligible & Medicaid active, at least 18years of age & have a physical disability.

The program provides assistance with services in the home such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care services.

The consumer will self-direct their own care, including hiring & supervising the personal care assistant, and approving time sheets. The assistant may be a friend, or family member, @ least 18 yrs of age, but cannot be a spouse or legal guardian. The assistant must have a clean background check through the Missouri State Family Care safety Registry before being employed by a CDS participant.

When Approved by the State of Missouri, CaringLegends, LLC will help you set up your own CDS Plans. Our passion to care staff has already completed the Missouri Dept of Health and Senior Services provider training & is presently pending approval to start accepting participants.
